Capacity Building for Sustainable Land Management in Bulgaria

This project is a joint initiative of UNDP, the Ministry of Environment and Water and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, financially supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Project "Capacity building for Sustainable Land Management in Bulgaria" supports the enforcement of the United Nations’ Convention to Combat Desertification in Bulgaria. The Convention was ratified by the Bulgarian National Assembly and promulgated in the State Gazette on 7 June 2002. By improving and measuring success in capacity building, and thus ultimately helping to enhance sustainability in land management in this country, the project contributes to meeting the programmatic target set in Operational Progamme 15 (Capacity Building) of the GEF.

A Final Evaluation Report of the project was prepared in May 2008.(Last updated: July 2008)
