"The Kosovo case. Model United Nations" -the First National UN School Model organized in Bulgaria. The Model took place on 10-11 December 1999 in the "Prostor" hotel, on Vitosha mountain. 20 UN school clubs from all the countries took part in the Model. The total number of participants was 60.
The Secretary General follows the discussion...
Bulgarian children enacted the simulation on 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The "representatives" of the Security Council members were especially active during the debate. After intense discussions they adopted a resolution for prolonging the mandate of UNMIK* in Kosovo. In fact the students arrived at this resolution before the real diplomats had even begun working on the issue.

Concurrently with our national Model United Nations, three young representatives of the Bulgarian UNA participated in the International Model UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva. They played the role of the USA in discussions about child refugees and torture, trafficking of children and international debt.
